    Hot Perview

    With this fall promising everything from hot kick ass detectives to James Cameron’s first from in about 6,723, Empire magazine hiked up its skirt to find the secrets of the biggest movies coming in the next six to twelve months and here goes

    * Sherlock Holmes


    Directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Jude Law, Robert Downey Jr, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Kelly Reilly and Eddie Mason.
    Super sleuth Holmes is played by Downey Jr, the usual adaptation of Holmes we know is the perfect gentleman with a pipe and stuck in his own world tending to over think things but not this Holmes, oh he is stuck in his won world all right but from the trailer I’ve seen he is a total nutter. Law plays the part of sidekick Dr Watson, Rachel McAdams plays adventuress Irene Adler and Mark Strong plays the part of the shadowy Lord Blackwood a man known in Victorian parlance as “an utter bastard”. We all look forward to its release December 25.


    * Surrogates


    Directed by Jonathan Mostow, starring Bruce Willis, Rosamind Pike, Radha Mitchell and Ving Rhames.
    Yet another comic boon adaptation, the Surrogates is a five issue comic book written by Robert Venditti and published by Top Shelf Productions. The movie is set in Boston where people live in isolation and interact only via robotic bodies called surrogates, but as all Utopias go someone isn’t happy so when several people turn up dead along with their surrogates, a cop [Bruce Willis] is set to investigate the through his own surrogate but when his surrogate is destroyed in a near fatal accident he is forced to do it the old fashioned way in the flesh and solve the mystery behind the murders. Released: September 25.

    * Dorian Grey


    Directed by Oliver parker, starring Colin Firth, Rebecca Hall, Ben Chaplin and Emilia Fox.

    This is the latest screen adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Grey. Dorian Grey is the character we encountered in the movie League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Dorian’s story is about a young man who comes to Victorian London and falls in with Henry Wotton [Colin Firth] who manages to entice his young mind to other worldly things resulting in Dorian selling his soul to keeps his youthful beauty eternally by ensuring that a portrait of him painted by and artist Basil Hallward [Ben Chaplin] would age rather than himself but the special painting gradually revels his inner ugliness to everyone, but his redemption my lie in the hands of the daughter [Rebecca Hall] of his corrupter. Released: September 11

    * Pandorum


    Directed by Christian Alvert, starring Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster and Cam Gigandet.

    This is brought to you by the creators of Resident Evil franchise, “Pandorum," is a terrifying thriller in which two crew members wake up in a hyper sleep chamber on a seemingly abandoned spacecraft with no idea who they are, how long they've been asleep, or what their mission is. The two soon discover they're actually not alone and the reality of their situation is more horrifying than they could have imagined. Released: September 11

    * Shutter island


    Directed by Martin Scorsese, Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsely, Michelle Williams and Emily Mortimer.

    Shutter Island is a 2003 novel written by Dennis Lehane. In this movie adaptation, It’s 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He's been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.     Directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson, staring Rickey Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe and Tina Fey.

    It’s a comedy in which everyone in the world tells the truth except for one misfit in the film industry, who after discovering the act of lying, milks it to become the world's most phenomenal performer. Released: October 2

    * Jennifer’s Body


    Directed by Karyn Kusama, starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried and Adam Brody.

    Popular cheerleader Jennifer [Fox] that everyone wants to be friends with and in the boys’ case want to date. Seyfried plays needy friend of Jennifer’s since childhood. Jennifer ends up as the sacrifice in a Satanic ritual held by a rock band , hoping that the sacrifice will increase their chances of getting a record deal. The ritual goes horribly wrong and Jennifer becomes possessed by a demon and begins to feed off of the boys in her high school—first seducing them to get close, and then eating them as meals. It becomes Needy's goal to stop Jennifer from killing more of her classmates. Released: October 9

    * 2012


    Directed by Roland Emmerich, Staring John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton and Woddy Harelson

    Based on the hypothesis that a global cataclysm will occur which leads to the end of the world and has survivors struggling for their lives.     * New Moon


    Directed by Chris Weltz, starring Kristine Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed

    The much awaited sequel in the Twilight Saga, Edward walked away from Bella for her own good because he is convinced his presence is putting her in more danger. Bella tried to pull herself together and seeks comfort in her childhood friend Jacob. After a while things start to get weird with Bella, Jacob is trying to win her affection but encounters difficulty as Bella is so wrapped up in Edward and Jacob finds out he is a werewolf and things get more dangerous when Bella has to go save Edward from the highest league of the vampires, The Volturi.
